Dubai to Abu Dhabi by bus

yesterday I travelled to Abu Dhabi by Emirates express bus from Bur Dubai's Al Ghubaiba bus station to Abudhabi. The journey took just under 2hours although it seemed less than that. You will be easily distracted by the massive construction going on in Dubai and the contrast in Abu Dhabi. The buses are very comfortable (better than National express in my opinion). The ride was smooth and not fast. We paid 20 UAE dirhams (about 4 pounds) for the journey to Abu Dhabi and 15AED on the return Journey. At both stations there was a bus waiting so we did not have to wait. I asked dubai taxi drivers how much it would cost to AD and they said at least 250 AED (AED and Dirhams is the same) for the same trip. The seats in the front are reserved for women and families. This is good for ladies travelling alone. Taxis in abu dhabi dont have the minumum 10dirham charge like Dubai. That was a pleasant suprise as my journey from the bus station was only 5.5 AED. back in dubai today almost 6 pm

Jumeirah Mosque Open Doors. Open Minds.

After the daily visit to the clinic we stopped at the Palm Strip mall opposite Jumeirah grand mosque. Even better views of the mosque and Burj Khalifa. You can hear the Adhan (call to prayer) from the mall. When it was time for prayers i just crossed the road. The masjid is even more beautiful inside. once inside we are all the same from the millionaires with their expensive 4 wheel drive hummers, landcruisers and BWM's to the dock workers. No difference all muslims attending the friday prayers. Jumeirah mosque is open for tours to all to increase awareness and understanding between various nationalities living and visiting the Emirates. The Open Doors. Open Minds . mosque tour takes one hour and a quarter, and visitors are invited to discover more about the life and religion of the Emirates by asking as many questions as possible. Every Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday at 10:00am Jumeirah Mosque

Dubai Jumeirah 2010

Its my first trip in dubai at this time of the year...not soo hot. its also a very busy time with lots of events happening around dubai. I have spent most of my time so far moving up and down Jumeirah beach road, one of longest, busy and rich. Here you will see all the latest expensive cars, big villas nice restaurants and lots of shopping malls and of course the Jumeirah grand mosque My favourite so far is the Italian themed with its unique blend of Tuscan and Venetian architecture that will continue to tell the extraordinary tales of exceptional beauty and creativity of the Renaissance period for many years to come. walked down charming cobbled streets, relax along a bright piazza, enjoy a romantic dinner and latest movie Mercato . Mercato has everything all the other malls have. There is the grand cinema, spinneys supermarket, virgin megastore, next, laura ashley, starbucks and costa. and you can see Thoe Paphitis presence with La senza. They also have a lively food court
